Flagstone vcan be used for many landscaping projectsKane County Landscape Materials & Supply, Inc. prides itself in carrying a unique variety of Natural Stone from across the country. Natural Stone Wall, Flagstone, Flagstone Steppers, and Outcropping are used in an array of landscape projects.

Offering a variety of color and texture, our Natural Stone-Wall, Flagstone, Steppers and Outcropping can be incorporated into any landscape design. Uses for these materials are limitless! Flagstone (larger in sized than our Steppers) can be used to lay a beautiful patio. Use the Flagstone Steppers (smaller in size) to create a path leading to your patio. Incorporate our Natural Stone Wall to build a flower or vegetable garden. Outcropping is very popular for use in accent pieces, ponds or waterfalls.

When choosing Natural Stone for your landscaping project, keep in mind that this stone is offered in many varieties. Each pallet is unique in color pattern and texture. Choosing from the same pallet insures the continued flow of color/texture of these materials. For example, Bluestone comes in Bluestone Flagstone, Cut Bluestone and Tumbled Bluestone. The Bluestone Flagstone are large irregular pieces that are bluish-green in color, with a ribbon of gold running through it. Lilac Bluestone Flagstone are the same large irregular pieces but a purplish-brown in color. Flagstone is usually used for a non-formal, free-flowing areas.

Cut-Bluestone comes in Thermal, Select, Full-Color and Lilac. Thermal-cut Bluestone are saw-cut pieces 1 inch in thickness. Pieces are cut in different sized squares and rectangles but are uniform. Regular-cut Bluestone is irregular in thickness but the same in shape. Color variety is as follows: Full Color means mostly greenish-blue in color with a gold ribbon running through it. Select Color means all blue in color. And Lilac means a purplish-brown in color. Cut Bluestone is normally used for a more formal setting.

Everyone has their own individual taste, which, is why Kane County Landscape Materials & Supply offers such a large variety of Natural Stone. Our Natural Landscaping Stones are composed of the following categories:

 

  • Natural Wall Stone – large rectangular shaped pieces made out of natural stones (most popular are Fon Du Lac & Chilton), varying lengths. Thickness varying from 2-3”, 3-4” or 4-5” and Varying Depths of either 6” or 8”.

 

  • Flagging - Large, irregular shaped pieces of flagstone, typically pieces range from 20” up to 36” in length. Thickness on flagging is typically 1-2”.

 

  • Steppers – Smaller pieces of flagstone ranging from 5” to 18” in length with a thickness of 1”- 2”.

 

  • Outcropping - Large, irregular shaped pieces of stone, typical thickness is 5”-10” with a lengths varying between 2 to 5ft. These pieces are usually scene as landscaping accent stones in plant beds, or great to use on water features like waterfalls or ponds!
